Pistachio has always been one of the most time-honored and significant agricultural products of Iran. According to historians, Pistachio grew in the northeastern forests of Iran, as well as regions sharing a border with Afghanistan as a wild plant. Presumably, Pistachio was domesticated in Iran more than three thousand years ago and was planted in lands.
Different educational and recreational plans have been included in this itinerary, the most important of which are the pistachio and pomegranate gardens.

Journey 2 Iran

Arrival at Imam Khomeini International Airport. You will be welcomed by a representative of our agency and will be accompanied to your hotel residence in Tehran.

On this day, you will have an exciting cooking session from the very first steps till the last. By the end of the day, you will have realized the significance of food and cuisine among the people of Iran and how much time and effort they put in cooking their meals. Overnight stay in Tehran

Visiting the National Botanical Garden of Karaj. More than 4000 species of plants are to be found in this garden where different climate conditions of the country and the world have been simulated. Overnight stay in Tehran

Leaving Tehran and heading for Kashan. Kashan is widely-known for its astounding historical houses and high-quality water rose. In the city of Kashan, you will visit Fin Garden (UNESCO World Heritage Site) which is a beautiful example of Persian gardens and also see its historical houses and a rose water distillation workshop. Move towards Esfahan. In the afternoon, you will visit Vank Cathedral and have a stroll in Armenian neighborhood of Esfahan. Overnight stay in Esfahan

On this day, you will have the chance to feel and see the Persian art and handicrafts in Naghsh-e Jahan Square (UNESCO World Heritage Site) as much as you want. In the afternoon, you will visit Assar Khaneh (oil mill) which was used in the past as an oil extraction workshop. Apart from that, visiting Chehel Sotoon Garden (UWHS) is included in your itinerary. After a two-hour ride you will reach Khara Desert. On the very first moment, desert will generously reveal its wonders to us. All of a sudden, you won’t be seeing any signs of road trees, pavements or traffic signs. Everwhere will be covered in sand dunes. On the verge of the desert, you will visit an ancient pigeon house and a cow well that was used for irrigation. Overnight stay in Varzaneh 

On this day, you will leave Varzaneh and Khara Desert and head for the most central province of Iran, Yazd.In the pistachio gardens of the city of Ardekan, you can treat yourself with some Persian pistachio and pick them directly from the trees. Visiting a pistachio sorting workshop will add to the joy of your plan. Overnight stay in a nice ecolodge with warm hospitable hosts in Ardekan

Spending only one day in Ardekan is not enough for seeing and enjoying all its beauties and the disarming hospitality of its people. You will stay one more day in Ardekan to see the pomegranate gardens of the city and take pictures. Your hosts will show you around and explain how Iranians benefited form rose madder plants as natural dye for thousands of years. They still use it for weaving handmade carpets. You will leave Ardekan for Faraghe village. Wait for seeing the pomegranate and fig gardens of the village and tasting the mouthwatering dishes of an ecolodge in Faragheh while getting to know your  kind hosts.

Say goodbye to the beauties of Faraghe village and head for the four-season province of Fars. Visit the Mausoleum of Cyrus the Great (UWHS), Persepolis, the ceremonial capital of Achaemenid emperorship, Naghsh-e Rostam and then, continue your way to Shiraz, the city of historical gardens.
